Looking beyond institutions: Exploring the social collectivism of everyday life among precarious migrant workers in Denmark
This PhD-project forms part the comparative, international research project: “The formation of migrant worker collectivism in Denmark, Germany and the UK” (PI: Bjarke Refslund). It studies how migrant workers, who are often portrayed as powerless and unlikely to engage in workplace collective action, act collectively under conditions of precarity. This PhD focusses on the Danish part of the project through an empirically founded field work consisting of participant observations and semi-structured interviews, and by utilizing a vignette methodology.
